Nay Pyi Taw International Airport (Burmese: နေပြည်တော် အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ လေဆိပ်; previously known as Ela Airport) is one of three international airports in Myanmar, where the evisa will be stamped on traveler’s passports, located 16 kilometers southeast of Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar. The airport officially opened on 19 December 2011.

The airport is able to handle 3.5 million passengers annually.

Nay Pyi Taw airport boasts a 3.6 kilometre runway and is capable of handling up to 65,000 flights a year, or about five million passengers.
The total area of the ground, first and second floors of the building is 63,000 square metres. The ground floor is for passenger arrivals and the first floor for passengers departures. The west hall is for local passengers, the east hall, and the north hall for international passengers. There is an apron in front of the airport building, an apron where VIP aircraft park; four more boarding bridges at the airport building for passengers; a flight catering building; a government complex and an airport maintenance base.

As scheduled, the airport will be expanded to be able to cope with 10.5 million passengers annually and it will be more modern and sophisticated than Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport.
